Program Monitors

All of the speakers to be able to listen to the broadcast throughout the station have been mounted and wired. The default content on these speakers is the "WSUM Program" or the content that is being used to pass to the delay, eas, and then feed the broadcast and webcast. This audio is pre-delay, thus if someone "dumps," it will not be heard. All computers have a new application added called "WSUM Panel" which can be used to control the volume of the various zones of audio.

NewsRoom phones now set to record

All computers but one in the news room now have phones with a line connection to the computer for recording. Remember, if you record a call, you need to let the other party know you are recording them. The computer will "hear" whatever is being spoken on the handset, therefore you can record from either line on the phone.

Digital transmitter link now active

The transport of the audio to our transmitter in Montrose is now via a digital T1 dedicated circuit. This means that our primary transmission is no longer subject to the whims of the atmosphere. This marks completion of the final stage of plans to fix signal transmission issues.
