New Equipment Installed

We now have the new streaming server installed and being tested. Also, the gear for the new STL over digital lines instead of antennas is in and waiting to be linked up.

Serato Scratch Live

There is now a Rane TTM57 mixer with a dedicated computer in the Main Studio for Serato Scratch Live. It is now possible to control digital file playback with control vinyl and/or control CD's. Please visit http://www.scratchlive.net/about/scratchlive/ for more information about Scratch Live.

Successful STL move

We are now officially broadcasting from our new uSquare building to the transmitter in Belleville! The move of the STL transmitter from it's temporary home of the last two years on Vilas Hall to our own roof on uSquare is done! This transmitter, which is not the 91.7FM transmitter, is a small digital transmitter in the WSUM rack room on the 11th floor of 333 East Campus Mall. It operates with 2 watts of power at 945.5 MHz.

STL move planned for morning of 4/15/09

Now that the new dish is mounted on the roof of uSquare, the transmitter needs to be moved from the old antenna on Vilas Hall to this new antenna on uSquare. This will involve dropping the broadcast link to a telephone line temporarily to keep audio going to the transmitter. If all goes as planned, this should be the last time we ever need to feed the transmitter over a telephone line, which is about equal to making us sound like an AM station.
